21 note(s)

Likely due to work-related boredom and the nostalgia for ‘90s Nickelodeon programming floating around in the pop culture ether, today my sister, while poking around on YouTube, discovered the episode of the game show Nick Arcade that I appeared on as a freshman in high school (and which I wrote about some time ago).

That she e-mailed the clips to my family I was fine with, because haha and also awww and jeez remember that, but posting it to my wall and hers on Facebook irked me, for some reason, but I was unsure why?

So I took a grumpy nap about it.

I think, being both a narcissist and a masochist, I like to dole out my (perceived) humiliations on my own timetable. Or at least have the opportunity to vet my foibles before the comments start rolling in. But—and this is a well-trod path by now—some things both online and IRL are not manageable or controllable in the way we might want them to be. Teenage embarrassments want to be free!

Clearly, the only solution was to blog about it, here.

Take a gander: giant nerdbot that I am, I at least look adorable. Spoiler: My teammate and I win with one second to spare.
