So awhile back I shot this vlog thing for Film ReVision, my friend’s series which discusses twenty-five films from twenty-five years ago. I happened to have the pleasure of discussing “Trading Places,” which, er, I’m not the hugest fan of.  (I seem be alone in that regard.  Look, it’s fine, it’s just…not in my top list of whatever-y whatevers.)  Still, if you watch the whole nine minutes you’ll clearly see why I should not be on any TeeVees or any more vlogs.  I wish I could blame the editing — they did excise my joke about gorilla-on-man rape and also a bit about the New Year’s Eve party on the train, where, if you’ll note, every time they cut to the party car “The Loco-Motion” is playing, on some sort of insidious loop — but no, I’m just not “camera ready.”  In defense of my crazy eyes, I did drink a gigundous coffee beforehand.  And clearly the camera adds ten pounds.  At least it seemed to add them to my head.
