There is a certain online dating site that I joined ages ago on a whim with the intention of deleting my account shortly thereafter, an action I never got around to (lazy!) and so occasionally I will still get notifications about people who’ve checked out my profile—this site and you know which one it is has its little gimmicks and prods to keep you checking in— and sent a message. Like the following “Icebreaker”:

[H]ello, apparently we both like [random pop culture thing].  Do we have anything else in common?

So, due diligence, I click on the profile, skimming, skimming, skimming, then this:

i’m also open to really blunt requests for being fisted (is that too much to say online?)

Er, ah, yes? I mean not certain corners of the internet—and no judgments!— but probably this site?  Everything in its proper place and all that. And so then no, I gather we do not have many common interests save the one.  (Perhaps if he preferred “polite requests”?)
