Here is a tale what I told for a friend’s (now defunct) podcast site, which was repurposed from an essay published on another site, and now I will upload it here for posterity, involving as it does my leitmotifs of “brushes with celebrity” and “mortgaging my dignity,” among others!  (I have but a handful of these anecdotes to dine out on, and I will keep doing so until the fork scrapes the plate.) Oh, and know:  it runs about 10 minutes, and I talk like a hummingbird hopped up on Benzedrine, so take that into account maybe when you hit play.
