It always seems that when you have guests visiting the city, the off-kilter and the odd and the deranged amp up their game. Though it might only be that you are able to freshly view the city in all its weird, carny sideshow glory — the usual blinders of your quotidian existence temporarily removed.
WHATEVER THE CASE, I was out with my sister and some mutual friends when we were alerted that something was amiss by the driver of a garbage truck hollering to anyone within earshot “look at this!”
The truck, which had been blocking the scene across the street from us, rolled away in a perfect cinematic reveal. Behind it, a gentleman was using the corner of 14th St. and 8th Ave. as his personal locker room. He quickly and efficiently stripped naked — this was happening! — and stowed his clothes in his briefcase before prancing with no paucity of pride into the nearby gourmet deli, wherein my sister vaulted into citizen journo mode to snap this shot of his rear from across the street.
