Wherein Coffee May Be a Metaphor...
- me: I am drinking instant coffee. I thought I knew the taste of failure before. But.
- sis: Oh, that's too sad to even consider
- me: failure is flash frozen coffee crystals.
- sis: hahaha so true. Not even [General Foods]International instant coffee. Ghetto Instant.
- me: Nescafe.
- sis: shudder of horror
- me: if it were international...it would have been served by the coy, flirty neighbor who lives in the immaculate apt. down the hall from mine. After a jog, say. Or on a drizzly morning. THAT IS NOT MY WORLD
- sis: HAHAHAHHAA. Your world = FAIL
- me: I would not take coffee from my neighbors. Sweetened, as it might be, by lighter fluid or strychnine.
- sis: But! on the plus side, you just descibred your miserable world rather poetically
- me: it's a gift. (curse?)
- sis: Curse
- me: well there's that.
